What Does the Wellness Carafe Do?
The Wellness Carafe is a water pitcher that uses a multi-stage filter cartridge to purify water by removing chlorine and other harmful contaminants found in it. Pour water into the pitcher and after going through the filiter, it will be clean, safe, and refreshing.

If you want clean, safe and refreshing water in a pitcher design, then the new Wellness Carafe is ideal for you. Just pour tap water into the top of the Carafe and gravity will do the rest. In a few minutes, the bottom of the Carafe will be full of natural tasting water.
If you want cold water you can pour a handful of ice in with the tap water or you can put it in the refrigerator. Like all Wellness Filter products, the Carafe’s multi-stage cartridge contains the famous enhancement media for improved hydration, soluble minerals and negative ions.

Taichoseki is a proprietary media used in all Wellness Filters®. On December 15, 1990, the Kitazato Medical School of Public Health in Tokyo, having found that it greatly inhibits the growth of fungus and bacteria, approved Taichoseki mineral stone as a “natural disinfectant”. The Medical School’s studies found that water treated by Taichoseki mineral stone slows down and even stops the growth of fungus and bacteria, including staphylococcus aureus, bacillus subtilis, aspergillus niger, myrothecium verrucaria, trichophyton interdigitale, and candida albicans. This mineral also removes iron, cadmium, and many harmful substances in tap water.
Bakuhanseki is a proprietary media used in all Wellness Filters®. On October 15, 1995, the Japanese Government’s Ministry of Health, Drug Approval Division, gave their approval of the bakuhanseki stone as an approved medicine. The stone is approved for medical purposes in powdered form (oral or skin application), dissolved in water, and for use in water filters for bathing and drinking. The Ministry of Health uses Wellness Filter® water in their hospitals and in many of their approved health bathing spas. (Note: Because the Bakuhanseki mineral stone is designated as a medicine, treatments in health spas are covered by Japanese Government medical plans.) The Bakuhan mineral adjusts the water to a stable alkaline pH, increases dissolved oxygen, removes harmful substances and enhances the taste of the water. It will also remove lead, mercury, and chromium from tap water. It imparts trace Angstrom size minerals (silica, potassium, and magnesium).
SPG Sand - Obtained from volcanic rocks, the surface area of this material is 6.16 sq. meters per gram and provides 0.5-micron level filtration. Produces high efficiency filtration, removes parasites and adsorbs trace heavy metals, and yields very pure water.
Granulated Activated Carbon - Made from highest quality coconut shell carbon. Removes chlorine, chlorinated hydrocarbons, volatile organic compounds, tastes and odors.
Magnet & Magnetite Stone - High flux density (greater than 4,500 gauss) magnetic stone and magnets create magnetic field in filter for magnetic resonance activation of the water. Lowers surface tension, increases solubility and increases absorptivity.
Far-Infrared Ceramic - Proprietary ceramic media made from far infrared emitting stone that produces hydroxyl ions and hydrogen ions, which neutralize free radicals. Believed to aid the body in fighting immune disorders, diabetes, cancer, and heart disease.
The Carafe is mostly designed solely for chlorine and does not contain nearly the same filtration rating that our S-III has. The Carafe does not have a formal test format but will remove chlorine to 99.9% since it uses literally nearly the same cartridges that a Brita does, but with our enhancement media
Wellness Carafe Materials
The Naturally Filtered Wellness Carafe is made of NAS 30 styrene-methyl methacrylate co polymer. The filter cartridge is made from poly propylene. Both items are BPA-free and are covered by the FDA Regulation.

- Before use, hand wash the Wellness Carafepreferably with an all natural dish washing soap and rinse well.
- Remove the Wellness Carafe Cartridge from its bag and submerge/soak in water for 15 minutes.
- Place the cartridge snug into the Wellness carafe's upper reservoir center opening.
- Place the upper reservoir into the pitcher, lining up it's spout indicator with the pitcher spout.
- Fill the upper reservoir with tap water.
Once filled with water, set the Wellness carafe aside for a few minutes to allow the filtering process to take place. If you prefer to drink cold water, the Wellness Carafe can be put in the refrigerator. Refill the water reservoir as needed. Each Wellness Carafe Cartridge treats approximately 40 gallons or 150 liters of water. Equivalent to 160 quart fills of the upper reservoir.
Important: Filling up the upper reservoir with tap water for the first time flushes out the harmless carbon dust from the new cartridge. Carbon dust is a normal occurrence in cartridge manufacturing and will disappear after one or two flushings. Naturally Filtered recommends that you wash your Wellness Carafe each time you replace the cartridge.
Note: The Wellness Carafe Cartridge is designed to stay wet. If it goes more than one day wthout being used, the cartridge may dry out. Should this happen, remove the cartridge and shake it to loosen the media. Soak the cartridge under water for at least five (5) minutes and then reinsert it like in step 3 above. Use the Wellness Carafe only for filtering potable tap water that is municipally treated and micro-biologically safe to drink. People with specific water purity needs should consult with their physician before using any water filtration system. Do not filter hot water (85°F / 30°C).
