The common yeast infection, also known as vaginitis, is a painful condition that many may women experience at some point in their lives.

Characterized by extremely uncomfortable itching, burning and pain, as well as a smelly discharge, vaginal yeast infections are most-often caused by unhealthy forms of fungus that grow in the warm, damp environment of the female genitalia. And while men may also experience this condition, it is most common in women. The most prominent form of yeast infection fungus is Candida albicans.

Below, we will discuss ten of the most common natural remedies for yeast infections. Hopefully, these remedies will provide you with relief from the uncomfortable itching and burning.

1. Probiotics

Probiotics for Yeast Infections

If you are currently taking any form of antibiotic, the likelihood of a yeast infection is increased. Taking a probiotic supplement or eating probiotic foods will help fight and restore the natural gut flora that prohibits fungal infections like Candida from forming. The antibiotic tetracycline is especially prone to causing growth of yeast organisms in the body. Learn more about probiotics benefits.

2. Organic Apple Cider Vinegar Douche

Soothe a yeast infection by douching with apple cider vinegar. Mix 3 tablespoons of raw organic apple cider vinegar with 1 quart of water, add to douche apparatus and use. I recommend Braggs ACV, but any raw apple cider vinegar with “the mother” still included should work. For added benefit you can add some colloidal silver to the mix. I recommend adding 2 ounces of Silver Fuzion to each batch.

Inflammatory Bowel Disease

New research published in the Journal of Medical Microbiology shows that certain strains of probiotic bacteria may be the most effective way to alleviate the symptoms of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). In light of these findings, many experts are optimistic that safe, more effective treatment options for IBD are soon to follow.

What Is IBD & Why Is It So Difficult to Treat?

Inflammatory Bowel Disease is a very serious medical condition, and should not be confused with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS). While both are generalized terms which relate to abnormal bowel conditions, one is significantly more serious than the other. While the symptoms of IBS are unpleasant, and can often lead to a dramatic decrease in quality of life, they are not usually fatal.

IBD, on the other hand, is usually associated with digestive conditions like Crohns disease and ulcerative colitis. It often includes more severe symptoms such as frequent bloody diarrhea, which can become life-threatening to some individuals if left untreated.

Lemon Juice

Lately there’s been increasing interest in the effects of lemon juice on the liver. Specifically its effectiveness as a liver detox agent. While there is a good bit of truth to this claim, there’s also a growing pile of misinformation being produced by people who don’t really understand how the human body operates, or the basics of organic chemistry.

Lemon juice naturally contains potent levels of citric acid. When mixed with distilled water and consumed regularly, it can benefit the body in a number of ways.

First and foremost, lemon juice helps break down food in your stomach for better digestion. In part because of its own acidic qualities, and in part because it stimulates the stomach to produce more digestive juices.

Modern society has created a sad state for our over-processed livers. Anytime we overeat or eat processed or fried foods, and, anytime we are exposed to environmental pollutants or stress, the liver becomes overworked and overloaded. When the liver is taxed, it cant process toxins and fat in an efficient way. There are many foods that can help cleanse the liver naturally by stimulating the natural ability to clean toxic waste from the body.

List of Foods that Cleanse the Liver

In the past, I have discusses my favorite cleansing foods. This list is a little more specific and focuses mainly on foods that can help cleanse your liver. In addition to taking a liver-cleansing supplement, and performing at least two liver and gallbladder cleanses per year, eating the following foods is the best way to keep your liver healthy and functioning the way you need it to. I would encourage you to incorporate these liver cleanse foods into your weekly diet.

Garlic

1. Garlic

Just a small amount of this pungent white bulb has the ability to activate liver enzymes that helps your body flush out toxins. Garlic also holds high amounts of allicin and selenium, two natural compounds that aid in liver cleansing.
