The Benefits of Lithium Orotate

Lithium Orotate Supplement

An alkali metal related to sodium and potassium, lithium carbonate has been traditionally used within allopathic medicine to deal with mental imbalances. There are many side effects to taking this strong mineral as the body poorly absorbs lithium carbonate. Lithium orotate works differently.

Lithium orotate offers superior bio-utilization, allowing the mineral to penetrate the mitochondria, glia and lysosomes that exist within the intracellular structures of cells. The mineral stabilizes these lysosomal membranes, slowing the enzymatic reaction that leads to many of the negative side effects of other forms of lithium salts.

Most people are unaware that lithium is a naturally occurring mineral from the earth. Just like calcium and potassium, lithium is something that every human body requires.

Many people are familiar with the pharmaceutical forms of lithium (lithium carbonate and lithium citrate), these aforementioned chemical extracts used to treat mania and depression.

Lithium orotate is different. Whereas pharmaceutical drug forms of lithium require high doses to penetrate cells, lithium orotate is effective in extremely small serving sizes. Unlike its pharmaceutical counterparts, lithium orotate is non-toxic and seems to be effective for 70% to 80% of people who try it.

Health Benefits of Lithium Orotate

Brain Protection:
Studies show that the mineral lithium can actually support the grey matter nerve cells in the brain.

Anti-Aging Effects:
Small amounts of lithium orotate have been shown to offer anti-aging effects to the brain.

Neuroprotection From Environmental Toxins:
Lithium has been shown to protect the system from numerous toxins, particularly in the grey matter of the brain.

Lithium Orotate May Also:

  • Promote normal white blood cell count
  • Support liver health
  • Stimulate general well-being
  • Encourage normal thyroid health
  • Prompt mental balance and a good mood
  • Support eyesight

Lithium Precautions

Do not attempt to self-medicate a mental imbalance with lithium orotate. Speak with your health care provider. Pregnant and nursing women should not take any lithium supplement.

Also, lithium should not be taken by those with renal or cardiovascular diseases, severe dehydration or exhaustion, sodium depletion, or in individuals using any form of diuretics or ACE inhibitors.

My gosh I feel so foolish because I have never heard of Lithium orotate. This is just one more thing for me to try now. I normally take GABA, but I think I will try this out for a while.

  • Sue Kamens

What kind of imbalance did you experience?

  • Michele Dickey

As mentioned above, lithium orotate IS found in the body and is needed for healthy mind and body. It is in pill form, that does not mean it is medicine! It is a supplement!

  • taylor

hi, i’ve been on lithium carbondate and am now taking lithium oratate, but am wondering what it is about the carbonate that keeps it from utilizing as much as the mineral as oratate does? you say that pharmaceutical doses need to be prescribed at a higher level, but i’m wondering why…and do doctors now know that the oratate works well also? thanks for the article and info.!

It certainly has helped me in overcoming the negative effects of bipolar 1. It’s almost as if a light switch has been turned off with the anxiousness and I feel more mellow and easygoing. However go slow with it and listen to your body. Always remember to hydrate no matter what.

What about taking this for Lymes I’m so tired of all the antibiotics.

  • http://www.globalhealingcenter.com/ Global Healing Center

I understand, Lyme disease is a really rotten battle. I wish I could tell you this would take it all away but we don’t have any evidence to support that.

  • abby815

I have been reading, Healing Lyme, by Stephen Buhner. From what I am understanding from the book is..you need to raise the CD57 white blood counts. CD57 are Killer cells. I am going to order this product myself and give it a try. I am a Lymie of 25 yrs. and it is a long road, but keep going. You need to read a book on Lyme Disease because there is so much to learn on how to help your body. I have learned from other reviewers about Japanese Knotweed, Cats Claw, Andrographis and more.
I also have learned that Antibiotics are not the answer for me. Good luck to all the Lymies out there.

My mother takes it for severe bipolar 1. It works on bipolar but it doesn’t work to prevent schizophrenic delusions so people who take mood stabalizers and anti-psychotics will still need an anti-psychotic. She went into shock because it works.

  • Dennis Booska

Is it ok for 9 year old boy with adhd who has trouble getting through the school day?

  • J.o.

My mom has severe psychosis brought on by the use of steroids that were prescribed for her to bring down inflammation. I took her off the antipsychotics and put her on CBD spray. The psychosis went away in a few weeks. It gave her back her life.

Before YOU see any results? I think your wife needs a new husband lol.

  • GHC Support

It is difficult to determine both the cause and the appropriate action to take with concern for your daughter. While this supplement may be helpful, it is not specifically tested for children.

As the health risks for this concern can vary, it is advised that you speak with your practitioner, who can advise you with your daughters personal needs in mind.

  • LLP2112

Someone who is depressed and undiagnosed due to refusal to seek treatment is being an irresponsible spouse and parent. Kevin does not have to deal with that if she refuses to address it.

  • Nyx

First of all you are assuming she hasn’t been diagnosed because of her actions. Getting one can be an extremely hard thing. Many doctors are dismissive and don’t believe a person has depression unless they try to kill themselves or something. Especially if you’re the type of person who can put on act and is more cheerful in person. She could very well have tried to seek help but got discouraged because didn’t display enough of the ‘classic signs’. As a woman she is also expected to be happy at all times. You can disagree if you wish but that is the reality of society.

And second, the fact that Kevin said “When will I see results” not “When will my WIFE see results” shows that he is only thinking about himself. She is the one who supposedly has depression and mania, not him. His words make it seem like he cares more about her actions not affecting him than her actual feelings and mental health. His concern should be with her getting better for her sake first and foremost. Then worry about himself after. He may be experiencing the results of someone with depression but he has NO idea what it’s like to actually HAVE it.

    I’d recommend glasses or contacts.
