The Difference Between Systemic Enzymes and Digestive Enzymes

Whether breaking down foods or healing from injury, nearly every process the human body performs involves chemical reactions. Enzymes are proteins that act as the catalysts for these chemical reactions. Every cell in the body uses enzymes for building, maintenance, and repair.

The human body produces many enzymes on its own, however natural production of enzymes begins to decline as early as age 25. Joint pain, circulatory problems, slower healing, and an increase in the incidence of disease are all too common with people who are enzyme deficient and suffering the effects of aging.

Types of Enzymes

Enzymes fall into three main categories: food enzymes, digestive enzymes, and systemic enzymes.

    I am constantly bloated. I eat mostly vegetables, fish, avocados and nuts. I read these foods also add to bloating and gas:
    Problem foods include beans, broccoli, cabbage, carrots, cauliflower, corn, lettuce, oat bran, peas, peanuts, peppers, soy and whole grains. I feel I need to go on a nut and fish diet until I can figure out what to eat! Other ideas?

    Eliminating foods from your diet is an easy way to narrow down the items that are causing you problems. Do make sure that you’re getting the nutrients your body requires should you opt for a heavily restricted diet.

    Thank you for the info…if i take the veganzyme that you take and beans cause bloating and gas for me…does that mean I can now eat beans? I read the ingredient list and it looks like alpha-D-galactosidase (an enzyme that breaks down indigestible sugars in beans and vegetables), is not on the list. Seems like this may be the “right” one to take for me…suggestion of another enzyme supplement that contains alpha-D-galactosidase?

    Hello I am very interested in your product. I have read this below elsewhere on internet and wonder if you can comment on when to take enzymes? mainly pancreatic enzymes lipase, amylase, protease:
    “if enzymes are taken between meals, the body doesn’t need the enzymes
    for digesting food, so they make their way directly into the bloodstream
    to aid in the elimination of CIC’s”

    I use enzymes all the time and I love them. I consider GHC to be the best out there but expensive. It is still worth it if you can afford it.

    For those that can’t afford the best, I would recommend even a cheap brand, because they work even when you don’t have the best quality available.
