Using Oxy-Powder while on Methadone?

Postby TracyM04 on Sun Feb 20, 2005 2:36 am

:D Hello!
I am new to this Forum, so I hope that I am going about this the right way!!

I am currently taking 80mgs a day of Methadone as pain control for moderate to severe chronic intractable Migraines. I am detoxing off the Methadone 10mgs a week, however, it will take weeks maybe months to get it out of my system.

My problem is one of the side effects of the Methadone! I am suffering from severe constipation which is painful and cannot be very good for my internal system! I ran into a very painful problem last week when nothing would move because the waste was so dry. I finally got everything going with a cocktail of Milk of Magnesia, Benefiber and a stool softener, however, I don't think it will be safe to continue using these chemicals over and over!

I received the Oxy-Powder I ordered and I just want to be sure that it will be safe to do a cleanse and the follow-up maintenance program while still taking the Methadone?

I am currently on the Weight Watchers Flex program, so I am eating a lot of fresh fruit and vegetables and I am drinking a lot of water every day.

Is it safe to start the cleanse and continue with the Maintenance on the Oxy-Powder? It looks like I will be on the Methadone for at least another 8 weeks, probably more if I run into trouble at the lower dosages.

Thank You very much for your time! :)

Hi Tracy,

Yes, pain meds are notorious for causing constipation. It will be fine for you to go ahead and start the Oxy-Powder cleanse and continue with maintenance.

I would also suggest that you consider doing the liver/gallbladder flush in order to clean the liver and gallbladder. You can find the flush at: http://www.ghchealth.com/liver-and-gall ... flush.html

One other thing I would suggest for you concerning your migraines and that would be checking your hormone levels. Many women who experience migraines do so because their hormones are unbalanced. You can do this through saliva testing. Also some women find that natural progesterone helps them get their hormones balanced and also helps to relieve migraines.

Your diet changes sound very good. Good for you! Try to eliminate sugar and make sure that your are not drinking diet drinks that contain aspartame.

Let me know how the flush goes.

Thank You for your reply and excellent advice! I will look into what you suggested. In the past I have had some high Liver enzymes, due to the medications I was taking, maybe a flush is a good idea. I have already nearly eliminated all soft drinks from my diet so I am on the right track there.

I was really eager to prevent any further constipation problems, so I started the cleanse even before I had your answer. I figured that I would just stop if it was a bad idea!

I'm on the 3rd night and I already had success at 6 pills! I've been more productive today than I have been in years, I am very pleased with the Oxy-Powder.

Thank You again!

Be Well and Pain Free! :D
