using bathroom problems

Postby w9323 on Fri Feb 03, 2006 2:45 pm

ok people im just a teenage in college and i know this is not normal for me but i have no idea what to do about it or where to go. i figured if i ask online i t would spare me the embarassment from asking someone in person. so here goes:

for the past month, i have been getting random diarhea attacks. it seriously feels like i have to fart but its kind of a burning feeling so i go to the bathroom and it comes out as a little liquid. this happens more than i can count throughout the day. sometimes, and sometimes more than sometimes, when i wipe, there is blood. whenever i really do have to go to the bathroom, (as from eating food and naturally passing it out of my body) my stomache hurts really bad and i go to the bathroom and seriously fart all over inside the toilet, with poop coming out in chunks. and once thats done, the poop comes out small and skinny like, and i have to wait a minute or 2 for each one to come out...so its not a normal poop where ya just go take a big dump and get it all out. and also when im pooping/farting into the toilet, clumps of blood will drop in, and when i wipe blood is present on the paper.

i know ive used some words that maybe shouldnt be in there but thats the only way i can describe it. i know this is not normal and i hate having to go to the bathroom so much just from a liquid like fart, and i really dont like seeing the blood because that is definitely not normal and im scared about this whole thing. so if anyone can help me or tell me of what problems i might have whether it is just rectal problems that can be eliminated with medicine or whether it could be something as bad as colon cancer. i dont know. i just need some help and someone to talk to about this problem.
thank you.

You are absolutely right in saying that you do need to speak with a doctor concerning this problem. The symptoms that you have described could mean one of a number of different conditions. I recommend that you see a knowledgeable doctor and explain the entire situation to him or her. They can perform tests in order to determine what the cause of these problems might be. Blood in the stool could be something as small as irritation from chronic diarrhea or it could indicate bleeding further up in the colon or elsewhere. In this case, ruling out a serious problem is much more important than the embarrassment caused by this subject; besides, this is something that doctors deal with every day. I recommend visiting an experienced naturopath or chiropractor or other practitioner that is experienced in and knowledgeable about natural methods of healing. Also, I would suggest discussing this with a parent or older friend that can help guide you through the diagnostic and treatment process.
