some questions about diet and process of colon cleanse

Postby drew on Tue Jan 24, 2006 9:46 pm

1) On the directions for the colon/liver/GB cleanse that fruits, veggies, and a low fat diet are suggested. Well, is that for the colon and liver/GB cleanse or just the liver/GB?
2) I plan to eat healthy anyway but how will it affect the the colon cleanse if you eat other things less the fats? What about the typical American diet?
3) On the first night when you are suppose to take the 4 caps on an empty stomach, does that mean not to take with/after a meal or does that mean not eat that day? How will taking them with a food in your stomach affect the outcome? What about eating an early dinner and taking them before you go to sleep late that night?
4) I drink a lot of Green Tea for the antioxidants and I want to know how this will help/hinder the process. What other herbal teas/ extracts would benefit the process?
5) What is the reasoning for the heavy whipping cream and berries for dinner on the 5th night of the liver/GB cleanse? Can you go without? Could you drink the juices instead?

These are questions I have come across. If I am taking a supplement or putting something in my body, I want to know how these things affect the outcome and how to maximize the experience. Thanks for the advice. I am lookng forward to doing the cleanse!!!

I am going to try a poll question for the first time so if it doen't turn out right, I will fix it.

The low-fat diet that we suggest is primarily for the liver/gallbladder cleanse. Eating less fat during this time will actually allow the body to build up more pressure in the gallbladder due to a decrease in bile production used to emulsify fat. This should help on the final day of the cleanse when you introduce the heavy whipping cream and, later, the olive oil as the gallbladder should contract more forcefully.

We always recommend that you eat as healthy as you can, which, I think, excludes the typical American diet. Eating less fat during the colon cleanse should not dramatically affect the action of the Oxy-Powder. However, please remember that all fats are not equal and that many fats are, in fact, quite healthy. These include the essential fatty acids from sources such as flax, hemp, evening primrose, and others as well as the fats from olive oil, raw coconut, nuts, and seeds.

We typically recommend that you take Oxy-Powder a few hours after eating dinner on an empty stomach. Taking it just before bedtime works well for most people. We do not recommend starving yourself during the colon cleanse.

Regular consumption of green tea should not alter the cleansing process with Oxy-Powder. If you like, you can also drink herbal detoxification teas that you might get from a health food store.

The Reason for the heavy whipping cream is to provide a source of fat that is very palatable to promote the secretion of bile and begin the purge of the liver and gallbladder. Heavy whipping cream is very low in lactose and, when mixed with the berries, can make a tasty high-fat dinner. The juices would not serve this function.

We always recommend that you drink plenty of purified, distilled, or Wellness water and eat a diet high in organic fruits and vegetables. If you eat meat, organic and free-range are the best choices.

Please contact us if you have any other questions or concerns.
