There are many indications that the body has become too acidic. One way is to purchase pH test strips and test both the urine and the saliva. These tests are best performed first thing in the morning. In the case of the urine test, the first urination is the best and preferably in mid-stream. These methods can yield different results and are not necessarily an indication of the pH of the blood, but they can provide useful information as to the state of the body. Another way is based upon common conditions that are associated with an overall acid environment. These include but are not limited to the following: lack of energy and drive, tendency toward depression, headaches, nervousness, dry skin, dull hair, tendency toward inflammatory conditions of the eyes, tendency to inflamed or sensitive gums, and headaches. Please remember that these individual conditions can also be the result of other causes and taken together can be an indication of hyperacidity. Equally as important is the fact that an excess of acidity indicates a low oxygen environment in which parasites, fungus, bacteria, molds, viruses, and even cancer can thrive. Additionally, calcium can be leached from the bones to return the body to a more alkaline state which, in turn, can lead to the beginning stages of osteoporosis.
