Is Colon Cleansing Safe?

Postby RawSugar on Fri Apr 27, 2007 9:20 am

Lately, I've realized how poor my diet is. I'm in my late twenty's and my entire life, my diet has consisted of beer and junk food. I've always prefered the candy bar over the fruit, soda over milk, and the fast food drive-thru over the grocery store. Now that I'm getting older and my metabolism is slowing down, I'm starting to feel the negative effects of my diet. (I'm getting fatter.)

So, since the beginning of 2007, I've been eating strictly organic fruits and other complete meals. I'm taking more supplements, which has given me an extra edge. I'm back in the gym working out more. Not only do I feel better inside, I look better on the outside too.

My personal trainer mentioned to me that he does a colon cleansing a couple times a year. In a conversation with him, I realized how many different colon cleansing products there are on the market. Some are obviously better than others. When I asked which one's he has done, he named about half a dozen colon cleansing products.

Long story short, he's sparked my curiosity and I am interested in colon cleansing. Being new to this, and always hearing that colon cleansing is an unneccesary process, I am wondering - Is Colon cleansing Safe?

Which colon cleansing method is the safest? What is the Best Colon Cleanser? Is Colon Cleansing Safe?

Any advice and recommendations would be appreciated.

RawSugar -

Don't worry too much. You're still young. I am 38 and I grew up with a similar diet as you. As a kid I was petrified by vegetables, and i never ate them until after i graduated college. Except for potato's, I would eat potatos.

Anyways, I made a similar life change, and started eating alot of salads and raw fruits. It was difficult at first, but slowly it became habit. It's been about ten years now, and it has made a huge difference. HUGE! I have never felt so good. Giving up sodas was the hardest part, but i think it made the biggest difference. I have more energy and find myself having great days.

Anyways, to answer your question - Is colon cleansing safe?

Yes, if done properly or with a quality product, then yes i would say colon cleansing is safe. There are many techniques involved in colon cleansing. You can get an enema or colonics, hydrotherapy session. That's where they stick the tube up your.... basically they flush out your colon with water. I've done this many times. Wouldn't recommend this to you, a first time cleanser.

There are also many colon cleansing products you can take. Each have their strength's and weaknesses. I prefer oxypowder, because it's effective. You can feel a noticeable difference within a few days. and I don't ever get headaches or cramps from it. I've tried a few other kinds that were not right for me. I'm prone to constipation, so I tend to stay away from the 'herbal' (fibre) colon cleansers, such as colonix or blessed herbs.

But, you need to figure out which one's best for you. Do some research online and don't settle for the first product. There are tons of colon cleansing reviews out there. Research 'colon cleansing' and the answer will come.

Once you do a cleansing. You'll be feeling great in no time.

Is Colon Cleansing Safe?

That's a very good question. I have to agree with DoubleDown. There are some very good colon cleansers and some very bad colon cleansers on the market. For instance, Oxypowder & Colonix, are probably the top two colon cleansers on the market. Oxypowder is oxygen-based and Colonix is Herbal (fiber-based).

Where as, the mass-produced (generic) colon cleansers sold by Walmart, I would stay away from. In my opinion, the quality is not the same. Not as good.

Both companies offer great customer service so you can call and get your questions answered by a REAL person, and you don't have to dig through google trying to solve your problem.

I've tried both colon cleansing products, Oxypowder & Colonix. As well as another one called Almighty Cleanse. My personal preference would be Oxypowder, because I suffer from Irritable Bowel Syndrome. And Oxypowder works the best for my body. But if you decide to go with Colonix, you wont be disappointed either.

So, Is Colon Cleansing Safe? I guess it all depends on who you ask, but I would say that both colon cleansing products mentioned above are safe. I've used both of them.

hi everyone.

thanks for all the quick replies. Very informative.

I have been doing alot of research into oxypowder lately. I also talked to my personal trainer, who was the one that originally turned me onto the idea of colon cleansing. He actually has tried oxypowder and was impressed with the results he had with it. He told me to try it.

The other cleansers he tried were Dual Action cleanse, Colonix and puristat. He said all of those were ok, but his body responded better to oxypowder. I've spent alot of time reading about oxypowder and it seems like a pretty good product. I'm looking forward to tryin it.

I just ordered some, so I'm going to start cleansing next week. I'll keep everyone updated as to how I am doing.

RawSugar. Yes. In my opinion, colon cleansing is safe. But, you have to know what you are doing, otherwise, you can cause damage to yourself. There are many colon cleansing products out there. Like the other people mentioned, some are better than others, but most of them are no good. The three big ones that you should concentrate your research on, is Oxypowder, Blessed Herbs, and Colonix.

I've used all three, and they are all good products. I like the simplicity of Oxypowder. Its the easiest colon cleansing program to follow. Colonix & Blessed Herbs make you mix teas and drink fiber shakes. Blessed Herbs actually makes you fast before starting their colon cleansing program. Alot of people can't handle that.

I would recommend Oxypowder, but you really can't go wrong with any of them.

I wish you the best of health.

Hi everyone!

I just wanted to thank you for replying to my question - Is Colon Cleansing Safe?

I wanted to give everyone another update. I talked to my personal trainer abotu Oxypowder and since he tried it, and after doing my research on oxypowder, I decided taht I was going to give it a try.

Well that was a few weeks ago. Since then, I have ordered a bottle of oxypowder and I have already completed the cleanse. I feel amazing! I feel like my body is operating smoother than before. I've noticed little changes in the way I do things, and even how long I do things.

I have a little more energy to do household chores whenI get home from work. Which is something I regularly slack on. I also notice that I am pooping quicker than I normally would after I eat.

I have started eating alot of raw fruits and veggies, because I have heard taht it helps keep your digestive tract regular and I am also eating Activa yogurt everymorning.

Thanks to Oxypowder, I feel amazing! Thanks again to everyone for responding so quickly.

Natural Colon Cleansing

Postby Gordon Pears on Wed Nov 12, 2008 11:02 pm

One of the most popular colon cleansing treatments is to have the colon drained out by injecting large amounts of water and then allowing the water to flush out of the body, carrying large amounts of waste along with it. Another popular treatment uses oxygen to break down waste.
