Piercing the Earlobe.

Postby Souji on Thu Mar 30, 2006 8:25 pm

I'm posting to make clear a doubt I have about piercing the ears.

I've heard that it cuts the body's Energy Flow or somehow makes damage.
My mother says that it's OK if you pierce the earlobe, but that it's bad when you pierce the upper part of the ear.
Also, a friend of mine says that since some diet programs uses lead balls on some parts of the ear, the piercings should make some effect too.

I know those are myths and that I'm a newbie, but I hope you answer me soon.

It is true that there are many meridians that are present on the ear. The majority of these meridians are located toward the upper part of the cartilage on the outside of the ear of clustered closer toward the center of the ear. According to some, if the earring is too near the meridians it can disrupt the energy flow through that meridian and potentially cause problems. Piercing higher up on the cartilage of the ear would be more likely to be harmful than in the more conventional lobe position. Also, the metal balls are called AcuAids and are used by many doctors for various reasons.
