OxyPowder and Candida + Diet questions

Postby Chemistry on Fri Feb 17, 2006 8:55 am

Hi!

I do not take oxy powder everyday, but I do for a week or 2 once in a while when I feel tired and lack energy. I started a new cycle yesterday.

I recently did the candida spit test, and it turned out to be positive. Since I read that oxy powder can take care of candida, I am not too worried.

But for a while now, I've been juicing several fruits in the morning in order to get my recommended daily intake of fruits easily (while before I would forget, and would end up with like 2 servings instead of 4).

But I was wondering if I should continue that while on the oxy cleanse, since apparently candida feeds on sugar...?

Also, I am very confused by everything I read on candida. Some say you can't have wheat, some say you can, some forbid yogurt, some don't...
I bought a breakfast cereal that is basically just whole wheat flakes and whole flax seeds. It has less than 1g of sugar per serving. Is this allowed?
And what about bread? The yeast in it died during cooking... but most people say it shouldn't be eaten.
Like this website:

It seems to have a great muffin recipe, yet I wonder if all the flour and apple sauce is fine...?

Basically, if I take oxypowder everyday for, let's say, 10 days, and watch what I eat but still eat a little bread or sugar, do you think I'll get it rid of it?
Or is the diet supposed to be very strict?
Note: the first time I did the spit test, the "legs" came out within the second, but now (3 days later on oxy) they took several minutes, and are much smaller/thinner...

I will also start take pau d'arco pills as soon as I get them...

Thank you for your time, I feel like I lose so much time on the net reading stuff posted by so called health doctors.
I must say that you are the only one that makes sense at all!

Thanks!

Candida and Juice

Postby ghchealth on Tue Feb 21, 2006 1:47 pm

Unfortunately, Candida is very common in our society due to the Standard American Diet and overuse of antibiotics. Oxy-Powder is definitely a very effective tool in the battle against the overgrowth of Candida throughout the digestive tract. The monatomic oxygen that is released creates an inhospitable environment for this organism as well as aiding in the elimination of the toxins that it can produce. Please be aware, however, that if there is a more severe overgrowth it may be necessary to use additional supplements. These include Oil of Oregano, a good probiotic such as Bacillus Laterosporus (Latero-flora), colloidal silver, garlic, systemic enzymes, and various others.

Regarding the juicing, this is generally a very healthy habit provided that the juices are fresh-made, organic, and do not undergo processing. The sugar present can definitely be an issue for people and especially for those that are suffering from systemic candidiasis. Vegetable juices are a better choice in this regard because they do not have the high levels of fructose that fruit juices have. Also, eating fruit in its whole state can be much better in this case because all of the fiber and nutrients are retained which can slow the release of sugars during digestion. In truth, while performing a Candida cleanse, you should probably avoid most sweet fruits; instead eat Granny Smith apples and berries, which are very high in nutrients.

Part of the confusion with foods that should or should not be eaten is that there is a vast difference in quality and composition. For instance, recent studies have shown that almost all commercial yogurt has little to no good bacteria present by the time that it is consumed and it is full of sugar to boot. This is definitely not a good choice for a low-sugar diet. A better choice would be home-made yogurt that is made from organic milk. A probiotic supplement will probably be even more effective and contains no sugar. As for wheat, most wheat products are high-glycemic and produce sugar very rapidly as they are digested. In addition, many have sugar added to them. There is also an issue with gluten that is contained in wheat; some people have a sensitivity to this component which can cause digestive problems in its own right. In reality, you will probably have to judge the product based on quality and on the process that it undergoes. The more processed the product is the worse that it becomes.

The related issue of yeast in bread can be difficult. For the sake of caution, a yeast-free type of bread is probably a better bet for those on a Candida diet. Also, remember to avoid alcohol and vinegar as both of these can promote the growth of yeast. Those that follow a more strict diet tend to have a more effective battle against Candida but there are other factors at play. Supplementation, diet, elimination, hydration, proper pH, and positive mental attitude all play a role.
