Oxy-Powder and Methadone

Dr. Group,
I think you'll remember me from several months ago. We were mailing back and forth about my constipation/Oxy-powder problems, for which you helped me greatly. I still continue to take the Oxy on a daily basis and it works! Now the reason for this sort of strange email has to do with another medication I take, which I am prescribed. This medication is Methadone, and I am talking to my doctor about my Methadone blood levels being higher because of the Oxy-powder. Now, I must tell you that I am in belief that the levels are higher due to the Oxy-powder. For one because I read before that laxatives would cause the Methadone levels to increase, and two because I feel the increase when I take it or the decrease when I don't. Now, I need some sort of acknowledgement stating that the levels are increased, and I cannot find the original test data in which I saw it in several months ago. So, in short I wanted to know if you would have any idea about this phenomena or if you could find info on it and forward it to me. Again, I have seen it before so I know it to be factual, I just cannot find it again.Thank you so much and I would greatly appreciate a response.

Thank you for the comment. I have not found any research except, I have been told that with a clean bowel most people will absorb the pharmaceuticals better and absorb more of the milligrams. I will post this to the forum so people will know your comments. Your doctor might want to reduce the dosage of the methadone while you are on Oxy-Powder.
