oh the pain!!!

well for about a year i've been having pains in my heart. its directly on my heart not in the center of my chest. it just comes and goes and sometimes its pretty bad. it really worries me and ive been to the doctor but he says stress is causing it but i dont think stress would cause pain like this. would it? the only test ive had done was an ekg and that came back fine. do you know what this could possibly be coming from?
