Liver / Gallbladder cleanses

Postby Sarahd on Thu Jul 12, 2007 5:48 pm

My question - how does one do these cleanses if you have had your gallbladder removed? I would assume one would still need to do so since your goal is to really cleanse the liver of the various toxins.

Please advise on the altered program for someone without a gallbladder.

Thanks

This is absolutely correct: one of the major goals when performing a liver/gallbladder flush is to cleanse the liver of accumulated toxins. We have had many people that have had their gallbladders removed successfully complete the cleanse. Gallbladder removal may actually increase the likelihood of stone formation in the liver and we recommend that the liver/gallbladder flush be performed every four months. Some people do experience nausea on the final day of the liver flush, which may occur in your case because the gallbladder is not present to store up bile and secrete it all at once. This, however, should not deter you from the flush as it is only very temporary. Other suggestions for health are as follows:

Consider a high-quality digestive enzyme formula with lipase in order to optimize digestion
Reduce your usage of products that contain chemicals, preservatives, dyes, and toxins. This increases the overall burden on your liver.
Try to drink ½ your body weight in ounces of filtered water daily.
Regularly use a probiotic such as Latero-Flora.
Shift the fats in your diet from processed and saturated fats to unprocessed and unheated fats as in nuts, seeds, flax, olives, and quality fish oils. One possible exception is the fat from organic, cold-processed, extra-virgin coconut oil.
Try Chinese Bitters (Chinese Gentian with Bupleurum) in the morning and Coptis with Bupleurum at night to stimulate bile flow.

Suggestions for living without a gallbladder:

Diet is extremely important. Eat low-fat, high fiber, organic and healthy. Eliminate refined carbohydrates and hydrogenated oils.

Liver Flush - Every four months. People without gallbladders may develop stones in the liver which will lead to a sluggish liver.

Parasite Cleanse - Two times a year. I recommend a six-week course of Paratrex™ then maintenance for 3 weeks.

Digestive Enzymes - Take 3-5 capsules at least 15 minutes before each meal. You will need to take enzymes for the rest of your life in order to digest the good fats (Omega 3) which are essential for good health.

Reduce chemical overload on the liver (pre-packaged food, personal care products, lawn products, perfumes, cosmetics, etc.)

Drink only filtered water - Try to drink 1/2 your body weight in ounces of water every day.

Use a Probiotic - I recommend Latero-Flora or Primal Defense.

Reduce animal intake (meat and dairy) - When consuming animal products make sure they are free-range, organic and hormone-free.

Eliminate white sugar and white flour.

Consume a green drink or pills equal to one-two tablespoons daily. Quantum Greens is a good choice.

Activated Charcoal - Some people have found that this helps with symptoms as it helps to sequester bile acid.

Chinese Bitters (Chinese Gentian with Bupleurum) in the morning and Coptis with Bupleurum at night to stimulate bile flow.

Exercise daily for 30 minutes. Walking is highly suggested.
