I was hoping to find out a bit more information on the benefits of lavender oil.
My husband has a problem: He's a tow truck driver and sometimes works on cars in the garage. When he does, the engine oil irritates his hands. Little, itchy bubbles form on his hands if he does it too much, and most times he doesn't have a choice because the works got to get done. It got so bad once that he couldn't work for a week. It never got that bad since, but it does come and go still. The prescription cream the doctors give him is full of "junk" and we want a more natural way to heal his skin.
I read that lavender oil is one of the safest essential oils and that it can be applied directly to cuts, scrapes, wounds, burns... etc. Do you think that it might help him? I suggested only applying it to one hand for a week after his shower every evening, just in case it actually makes it worse. (He doesn't mind the idea of going to bed with lavender hands... and frankly, neither do I!) Is this a good idea or is there something else out there that might be better for his situation?
Please advise.
