RawSugar -
Don't worry too much. You're still young. I am 38 and I grew up with a similar diet as you. As a kid I was petrified by vegetables, and i never ate them until after i graduated college. Except for potato's, I would eat potatos.
Anyways, I made a similar life change, and started eating alot of salads and raw fruits. It was difficult at first, but slowly it became habit. It's been about ten years now, and it has made a huge difference. HUGE! I have never felt so good. Giving up sodas was the hardest part, but i think it made the biggest difference. I have more energy and find myself having great days.
Anyways, to answer your question - Is colon cleansing safe?
Yes, if done properly or with a quality product, then yes i would say colon cleansing is safe. There are many techniques involved in colon cleansing. You can get an enema or colonics, hydrotherapy session. That's where they stick the tube up your.... basically they flush out your colon with water. I've done this many times. Wouldn't recommend this to you, a first time cleanser.
There are also many colon cleansing products you can take. Each have their strength's and weaknesses. I prefer oxypowder, because it's effective. You can feel a noticeable difference within a few days. and I don't ever get headaches or cramps from it. I've tried a few other kinds that were not right for me. I'm prone to constipation, so I tend to stay away from the 'herbal' (fibre) colon cleansers, such as colonix or blessed herbs.
But, you need to figure out which one's best for you. Do some research online and don't settle for the first product. There are tons of colon cleansing reviews out there. Research 'colon cleansing' and the answer will come.
Once you do a cleansing. You'll be feeling great in no time.
