I have Ulcerative Colitis

With my Ulcerative Colitis i have experienced many constipated days, stiffness in my left lower back, and when i did Have a BM it was scant with lots of blood. I'm on my 4th day of OXY-POWDER... I have settled on 6 caps at night to get 3 movements the next day. For the 1st 3 days it has all been Diarrhea (no blood-less stiffness in my lower back) and I was starting to get that evacuated feeling, I have just been taking a multiple vitamin. This morning I have an A.M. movement with scant amount and some blood starting again, also the stiffness has returned a little...the only change I made was adding a Bayer 81mg low dose aspirin, a 1000mg fish oil soft get 3 times a day 9with meals) and a fiber supplement that contains: Flax fiber, Acidophilus, F.O.S. and L-Glutamine...I am very happy with the results from OXY-POWDER so far, but could one of these supplements be holding me back? Or is this something I will have to live with as a part of Ulcerative Colitis? Is there a possible cure for my condition so far I am very pleased just to relive myself every day! But I want to get greedy and be symptom free!

Hi Trey,

The aspirin can actuallu thin the blood and cause bleeding. The flax fiber can also be harsh on the walls of the colon, I personally would avoid any bulk forming fiber as this could irritate the colon walls. I would switch from Acidophilus to the BOD strain found in the product Latero-Flora. F.O.S and L-Glutamine should be OK. I would only use the Multi-Vitamin "Intramax" with UC
