HPV VIRUS!

I had a pap smear about two weeks go and the doctor called me and said it was abnormal and there were some kind of cells in my cervix (i cant remember exactly) but anyways she said that it could just be HPV VIRUS or it could be precancer of the cervix. She also said that it goes away in 70%of women but if it doesnt go away it might be precancer. Is this something i should be worried about? They have to do another pap smear in 3 months to see if its still there. Im just worried now because cancer is a scary word. Should i be worried?

I would be wary at this point but not overly worried. Pap smears reveal that a large number of women frequently show abnormal cells which could be caused from a number of different reasons including infection, inflammation, yeast infections, herpes, trichomonas, sexual activity, and the use of vaginal preparations. Although HPV infection is extremely common among the general population, it is not the only cause for the appearance of abnormal cells. It some cases, the abnormality does disappear on its own but others may require treatment. Fortunately, there are various natural protocols that may be able to help with this including some herbal douches and possibly hormone balancing. The hormone therapy can be undertaken using bio-identical hormones such as progesterone cream and is best done with salivary testing by a naturopath or other naturally-oriented physician.
