How to Get in shape without going to the gym

You can get back into shape without the embarassment of going to a gym or a fitness center.

Its really easy and doesn't require you to buy any fancy equipment or do any exercise videos.

What's the answer? Bodyweight exercises and simple walking.

Now, before you say that it won't work, listen for just a minute. If you make your body do what God designed it to do you will start getting back into shape naturally.

Here's a simple, easy to follow program that only takes 10-12 minutes per day and will get you started:

Find a hill near your home that is not too steep and is about 400 feet long. Walk briskly up the hill and back down to make 1 repetition. Do this 5 times, up the hill and down and you will get your heart rate up. Once you are done, you will have walked around 3/4 of a mile. Can't do 5 reps? Do as many as you can, but be smart. Listen to your body and stop if you get light headed.

Your hill walking should take you around 15 minutes depending on your fitness level and how fast you can walk.
Once you can do the 5 repetitions without being winded, you should start jogging up the hill and then eventually running. Finally you will want to sprint at 3/4 speed up the hill.

You will lose weight faster by sprinting up the hill because that activity causes HGH (human growth hormone) to be released in your body. This is the same hormone that was in your body when you were younger and thinner.

Do the hill walking every other day, taking off 1 day a week.

Do some type of weight bearing exercise on the days you don't walk the hill. A good example is pushups and knee bends. Only do 4 or 5 of each at first or do whatever you can. If you have not exercised in a while, it will be difficult, but the reward is worth it. Don't go down as far at first, so you can start building muscle without hurting yourself.

Don't understand what I mean? On knee bends only go down
5-6 inches like you are getting ready to sit down in a chair and then go back up. Very quickly you will notice you are getting stronger. Wait a week or so and start focusing on going a little deeper each week.

Only do the pushups and knee bends twice a week.

After a week or two, you will start to feel better and see some changes to your body. They will not be dramatic at first, but very soon, everything will start to tighten up.

Just do something, anything. You didn't get out of shape in a week and you won't get back into shape in a week either. Be patient with yourself, exercise consitently and you will see the results you want.
won't get back into shape overnight either.
