I have tried Royal Maca but never heard of putting it in a shake. That sounds interesting.
I think hormonal imbalances can come about because of different things, like the toxins we are exposed to everyday. Some toxins can have functions similar to hormones in our bodies while others can just cause other problems that may or may not be related to hormones.
I have severe nutritional deficiencies that caused me some problems like fatigue, PMS symptoms, possible low thryoid (feeling cold all of the time and depressed), and some other things. I think even eating a poor diet may cause problems that effect your hormones, but this is somewhat less common, I would hope.
Men, I think, may have problems if they eat the wrong diet or do not watch their health. For example alcohol can deplete the body of zinc. When zinc is low copper is high. Men who drink too much can develop breats because of the depletion of zinc and the higher copper levels can influence hormones. Zinc and testosterone go together while copper and estrogen go together. So some things like booze, weed, tobacco, vegan diets, and some other stuff may cause an imbalance of copper and zinc in the body which can effect hormones. Low zinc can cause a hormonal imbalance. Low b6 can also cause hormone problems too. Of course other nutrients can play a role but zinc and b6 are the two most important for sex hormones. Zinc is also needed for adrenal hormones.
