fibromyalgia dysbiosis

Postby joanlpeace on Tue Apr 12, 2005 9:34 am

I have had fibromyalgia for several years, last year critically ill and unable to leave my house. I became allergic to about 90% of the foods I had been eating - when I'd eat them I'd have weakness, fatigue, and severe pain and burning in my hands, arms, and feet within seconds that would last from hours to days. I lost a lot of weight - too much!

I had been getting substantially better since I started the guiafenesin protocol lat August and using Natren Healthy Trinity with the following ingredients: Lactobacillus acidophilus Super Strain NAS 5 billion cfu *
Bifidobactrium bifidum Super Strain Malyoth 20 billion cfu *
Lactobacillus bulgaricus Super Strain LB-51 (L. delbrueckii, subspecies bulgaricus).

However, probably because of stress, I have become allergic to most of the foods I am eating again - with the same reactions. The problem is, I cannot take any products that contain salicylates (herbs) because they block the guiafenesin from working. I just want to get better and have a normal life!

Any suggestions?

Joan

Hi Joan,

Since you have an allergy to salicylates you may want to try adding a good natural fiber product to your diet. This helps many people to be able to eat a diet that has more variety.

I would suggest the following:

Terminator II - Many are getting a great amount of pain relief from using the Terminator II. (www.ghchealth.com)

Sun - Get 20 minutes of sun every day on as much of the body as possible.

Stress relief - walking in nature, soothing music through headphones, meditation, yoga, breathing techniques.

Good Books:
Feelings Buried Alive Never Die - Karol Truman
You Can Heal Your Life - Louise Hay

While many people do have success with guiafenesin, it really limits other things that you could be doing to help get well. You may want to check out Dr. Group's protocol at www.fibromyalgia-support.org Doing a whole body cleanse and then beginning on his protocol may give you much better results than you are getting right now.
