Depo-shot

Postby mrclean30R6 on Tue Apr 04, 2006 9:27 am

My wife had Depo-shot about 9 month ago and only took one shot, it was a nightmare for her, bleeding all the time, really bad cramps and major migrane headache. Is there something that can be done to clean this all out of her body, right now I have her on a colon cleansing, but what else can she do to get it all out of her system and back to normal?

Unfortunately, many of the potential side effects of hormone pills and shots are often minimalized. The synthetic progesterone that is given in the Depo-Provera shot can continue to cause problems for an extended period of time. A colon cleanse is a great place to start when attempting to clean foreign toxins from the body. It would probably also to be wise to consider a liver/gallbladder flush, or flushes, as well since progestin is fat-soluble and must be detoxified via enzymes in the liver. It can also be stored in the fatty tissues throughout the rest of the body. If possible, a consultation with a chiropractor, naturopath, or other practitioner that is experienced in natural methods of regulating the endocrine system could be very important. The physician would be able to perform saliva tests for the active hormones that are in the body and monitor any therapies that are considered appropriate. Some supplements that they may discuss with you are Indole-3-carbinol, calcium-d-glucarate, ground flax seed (lignans), 5-tetramethylhydro folate, and various antioxidants such as those that are found in green tea, cinnamon, and cloves. Also, the can advise you on dietary choices that can minimize your exposure to foreign hormones that are present in conventionally-raised meats (as opposed to organically-raised), and in other processed foods.

You can call Dr. Lanphier, Oasis Advanced Wellness, at 936-321-0009 in order to discuss some of the nutritional counseling
