Constant spitting

Sometimes I just have an urge to spit the saliva from my mouth out. After I spit once I feel something in my throat and I want to get it out so I keep spitting to try and force it out. The saliva that comes out contains no mucous, only think white stuff. I explained this to my regular doctor and she doesn't know what it is since no mucous is coming out. Have you ever heard of such a thing?

It is very difficult to say with certainty why you feel this urge. If your doctor feels that there is no conventional medical explanation for it, such as respiratory or throat infection, you may want to consider the possibility of an oral or esophageal yeast infection.
