Citric Acid hinders effectiveness of Oxy

Postby Brachle on Sun Feb 19, 2006 8:10 am

I have seen advice being given that if you squeeze a lemon wedge in water while taking Oxypowder it will make Oxypowder work better. I just wanted to let some people know, this is my personal experience, it really limits the amount of times I go to the bathroom. I dont know if I have TOO MUCH stomach acid, but if I drink ANYTHING besides water after/before I take the oxypowder that night or the following day I will MAYBE go once, sometimes not at all. Orange Juice, Pepsi/Coke, lemon squeeze, ect. all of these really stop my oxypowder from working properly. I have tested the times I only drink water and use citric acid a couple times, so if your having troubles....try drinking purified, room temp. water with a couple minutes between pills and you may expeirence a better effect.

Citric Acid

Postby ghchealth on Tue Feb 21, 2006 2:51 pm

The chemical reaction that is required to release monatomic oxygen from Oxy-Powder is dependent upon the acid environment of the stomach. The reason that natural citric acid is included in the formulation is to generate a more efficient reaction and reduce the numbers of capsules in an effective dose. The overwhelming feedback that we have received from customers is that adding a squeeze of lemon or lime to their water does help with the number of bowel movements the next day. We don’t recommend taking Oxy-Powder with either orange juice or soda. Although there is phosphoric acid in soda, there is also a possibility that the bicarbonate present will buffer the reaction that needs to take place. As for orange juice, it is not as acidic as the straight lemon juice and may have other additives that limit the reaction. There is certainly no problem with simply taking Oxy-Powder with a glass of purified water and letting it take effect.
