caffine & OP

Postby mystery on Tue Aug 29, 2006 8:39 pm

does caffine disrupt the performance of Oxypowder??
i notice that if i take OP and then some caffine later, i get alot less BMs- on average one big one and then a bunch of little ones.not that many more ,more like two little squirts (pun intended :D ) and i am done for the day.But then the day after i get alot of gas but still no BMs,my instincts are telling me that i am urinating all the water out and there is none left over for the OP to work optimaly and it also may be creating an electrolyte/mineral imbalance in my system.

when i just take it like i usually do it works out great and everything is a okay, when exactly should i drink my coffee then? a few hours later when i don't really need it? i usually enjoy it first thing in the morning to get me going, but if i take OP on those days i might have to skip the serving all together- because i don't need it later anyways ...
thanks

Caffeine acts both as a diuretic and as a mild laxative; in fact, many people all over the world regularly rely on their morning cup for regularity. It is also wise to realize that over-consumption of caffeine can lead to dehydration, which in turn can effect bowel movements. In this case, the simple solution is to consume less caffeine and more purified water. The Oxy-Powder itself should not cause any type of dehydration or electrolyte imbalance as it is merely liquefying the compacted fecal matter and not drawing water into the bowel. I would suggest foregoing the coffee on the days that you are using Oxy-Powder if you feel that this is the cause of the problem. Please keep in mind that caffeine is generally eliminated from the body within a number of hours and should not have any direct effect on your bowel movements the next day. The most likely case scenario is that there is some other factor that is coinciding with the decreased effectiveness, or it may be that you body is responding in a slightly different manner as your colon becomes less compacted.
