betaine hcl

Postby helpme17th on Mon Sep 18, 2006 11:26 am

i take 8 capsules of oxypowder every night with lemon.
i have a good bm everymorning, 1 large and 2 or more small ones.
after a few minutes i would be bloated.
i would be bloated the rest of the day.

i take 5 - 350 mg of betaine hcl after a meal and also pancreatin digestive enzymes.
i still don't have burning feeling in my stomach.
and of course still bloated. i have a terrible indigestion.

does this mean that i'm abnormally low with stomach acid?

will oxypowder be able to help me with my bloating?

Thanks,

Regarding the frequency of your bowel movements, it sounds as if you are having a very reasonable response to Oxy-Powder. The bloating itself could be the result of several different causes. I think that the indigestion may be the key to what you are experiencing. Generally, if you do not experience any warmth after taking the HCl, it means that you have not exceeded the amount that you require. Some practitioners advise that you increase your dose until you feel this warm feeling so that you can gauge the amount that you need. Keep in mind that the product that you are using is a fairly low dose of HCl and may require that you take more capsules than other brands. One particularly good HCl is made by Premier Labs, Quantum Betaine HCl. I would also consider using either Zymitol or Digesticol as a good source of enzymes.

The bloating itself may be related to incomplete digestion, which is very likely if you are very low on stomach acid. It may also be related to food allergies/sensitivities, bacterial overgrowth, fungal (candida) overgrowth, poor liver function, or possibly even as a by-product of the breakdown of compacted fecal matter. If it is the last one, it is usually temporary and resolves itself as the cleanse progresses.

There are some other supplements beside the ones already mentioned that may be beneficial to you.
• IntraMax- This is an excellent and highly absorbable multi-vitamin/mineral that also contains a whole host of other nutrients as well. The B-complex vitamins and others contained in this blend are very important I helping the body’s own, internal production of HCl. The ultimate goal is to restore the normal function of the cells in the stomach so that your digestion improves on its own.
• Latero-flora- This is a very effective probiotic supplement to help restore diminished bacterial colonies in the gut. These bacteria help to control the overgrowth of various types of yeast and bacteria that can be detrimental to the body. Probiotics also influence digestion and detoxification in the body.
• Silver Fuzion- This can be used to support the immune system and help keep bacterial overgrowth in check.
• Organic Oil of Oregano- Taken with meals this can help to stimulate the flow of bile and promote fat digestion. It is also aids in the maintenance of normal levels of yeast/fungus in the body, especially candida.
• Liver/gallbladder flush- Sluggish digestion often warrants performing a liver/gallbladder flush. This can be done after the initial cleanse with Oxy-Powder is completed. This flush can be followed up with a parasite cleanse using Paratrex. Complete details can be found at www.ghchealth.com/liver-and-gallbladder-flush.html.

There are many other supplements that may be beneficial according to your situation. If you have access, you can also have a doctor perform a Heidelberg gastric analysis, a test in which a capsule is used to measure the output of HCl in response to a challenge.
