8 - betaine hcl

i know i have low stomach acid.
last night i took 8 - 650 mg of betaine hcl
i still didnt feel any burning sensation
and i only took a small meal for dinner

i read that you go 1 capsule down from the burning sensation
and that is your dosage

do you think i'm abnormally very low on stomach acid
or i am just taking a very bad brand of betaine hcl?

It is impossible to say whether the brand that you are taking is quality or not without knowing a little about the company, but it is likely that you are low in HCl if you feel nothing after taking this many. I would suggest trying a different, high-quality brand such as Premier Research’s Quantum Betaine HCl. At least this way you will know that the product is not a factor. There is a test available called a Heidelberg Gastric Analysis that directly measures the acid production in the stomach. This test could be used to confirm that the acid levels are low.
There are some other considerations beside the HCl supplementation. It is very important to insure that the body is receiving adequate nutrients in order to produce stomach acid. I would strongly suggest trying IntraMax and either Quantum Greens or E3 Live. These should provide the necessary vitamins and minerals in a highly-absorbable form so that the body can begin to restore its own production.
